Guys:

Let's be more careful about which forum you post a query on. I've had to move several this week from Luftwaffe to Allied as they posed identification questions about downed RAF or USAAF aircraft.

Questions about downed Allied aircraft should not be on the Luftwaffe section unless the poster is asking about who might have shot them down.

Thanks

Re: Post locations

I have info on 4 FW-190 pilots killed on 20 Jan 1945 north of Regensburg on the border of Czechoslovakia. They were in the 301st and 302nd. Should I post that info here? Mayfair35@aol.com

Re: Post locations

That depends on your "info".

If said info is about the pilots who shot them down, that is if your focus is on the Allied side of the battle, this is not the right place.

However if the focus is on the Luftwaffe... well, my answer must by now be obvious.

Re: Post locations

My apologies Art, I could have answered your question with a little more tact!

Not often that we get the pleasure of WW2 veterans contributing to the forum, it puts me to shame that it should be under such conditions and even at my own hand!

I got a friendly reminder (read friendly correction) from a fellow community member, after which I found your introductory post on our forum:

Finally he had to push up with his body and the canopy released but struck Bill in the head and knocked him out. His wingman followed him down and reported he had been in a rather steep dive, hit the top of a hill and rolled over landing in the valley. He was very impressed with the Czech doctors who tended to him but had few medical supplies to work with. He of course was a POW until the end of the war when he returned to the States, was released from the Air Force, and went to work for a civilian company. He passed on in 2004 as I recall. Part of his medical problems may be traced to his injuries in the crash.

I am sorry I did not have an opportunity to answer this sooner but just found this site 2 days ago.
