night from 7 to 8 July 1944
Would like to ask the help of all of you on the following subject: At 03.27 the commander of MFA 810 (Flushing) reported the crash of a burning a/c in direction 7-8 which is roughly southwest at a distance of approx. 25 km and according to Lw-Ghent this was to be (had to be) an allied aircraft. However sofar I have not been able to trace any loss which could match this statement and I know that the Luftwaffe suffered losses as well!
Who might by able to assist? Another problem surfaced 13 minutes later as at 03.40 hours three heavy AA batteries - located on Walcheren Island - reported separately a burning a/c which crashed subsequently at approx. 15-25 km distance in the North Sea and so far I have been unable to trace a match for this one as well. Who might be able to solve this outstanding question? |
