During Circus 93 on September 4th 1941 N° 222 sqdn lost two Spitfire AB-801 Sgt Sharples AO ( POW ) and W-3124 Sgt Rudd WB ( POW ) Does anyone has an idea were these aircraft came down ? |

My 222 Sqn diary gives an account of what happened but not where they crashed

In the report of Circus 93 operation there is no information about the place where the pilots of 222 Sqn were shot down. You can read the fight started near Hazebrouck on the way to target but close escort was attacked on the way back by Me 109 too. There is no details of information when and were Spities were shot down during this operation. Probably no one saw it.
