![]() Diary Entries below of a crashed German Fighter which came down on October 10th 1942 I have seen the original Paper article of this crash which I will hunt out and scan.But in the meantime can you fellow forum members hunt for a more detailed report,I recall some of the Fuselage and Engine ending up in an unusaul Place on the sea front! I can Remember the Pictures from the paper article!
Im sure it was a FW 190 although my aunt has it to be an ME 109?? Can you help! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Can i suggest you purchase the excellent book "Luftwaffe Fighter Bombers over Britain" by Chris Goss.
This incident is well documented on page 135 - 137. Yes its a FW190 of 10/JG26 flown by Uffz Werner Schammert who made the error of making two passes on a target, Manston Airfield, and was hit by light Flak. He baled out and survived the war. Great book, can't recommend it enough. |
