Werke Nummer - Aircraft Identity Sought
This is a long-shot, I know, but since I don't have access to Luftwaffe aircraft W.Nr blocks can anyone hazard a guess as to what aircraft type might have had the Werke Nummer 658584?
The next question, of course, is whether anyone has any knowledge as to the fate(s) of any Luftwaffe aircraft that might have carried that number? |

Mike
No, it seemed quite a way beyond any numbers that I had thus far found. A range of Ju 52's and Ju 88's were the nearest I found - and they stopped some way short of that. I have a Patin mutter compass that has that number painted on in a style typical of painted-on Werke Nummers that one sometimes finds on Luftwaffe aircraft components and equipment. I was curious to discover if it matched any known number blocks. Andy |
