I'm no expert but maybe my comments will get other people to comment, is it a German para helmet, the rim seems to be shaped but I'd expect it to be more pronounced.

Google German paratropper helmets and see how they compare.

This is a decent M38 German paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger) helmet. It still retains the liner band and a little part of the straps, but the leather lining is gone. Quite a nice relic. Among German helmet collectors the Fj helmets are rare and sought after.
