Question Jagdgeschwader 53

Hello

I am a flightsimulator enthusiast and also very interested in Luftwaffe history and organisation. I am currently flying a flightsimulator called Il-2: Cliffs of Dover and I want to create historically corret missions for Jagdgeschwader 53 (JG 53). In my quest to do so I was recommeded to ask my questions at this forum, where I hope they can be answered.

I have read Jochen Prien's book: A history of the "Pik As" Geschwader from March 1937 untill May 1942" which holds a lot of answers to my questions. But I am interested in going even deeper.

My first task has been to find the Kstn's for a JG and at another forum I was told that it could be found here:

RL 2 III/573 in Freiburg.

1141 Stab eines Jagdgeschwaders vom 1.6.40
1142 Stab einer Jagdgruppe vom 1.6.40
1143 Jagdgruppe vom 1.2.40
1144 Stabskompanie einer Jagdgruppe vom 1.2.40

But I have no way of getting to Freiburg my self, so I hoped someone here has the documents and are willing to share them with me or that someone can tell me how to get hold of them?

Secondly I need to know what sort of other equipment was on an airfield in France. I know that JG 53 had a Gruppe at each airfield. One main airfield and then two satellite airfields. But what other units would recide at an airfield besides the Jagdgeshwader Gruppe? Is there a kstn for an airfield?

And thirdly is it possible to find the orders that the JG was given? Combat reports filed?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post

Regards

Henrik

PS: Attached are some picture from the flightsimulator with a Bf-109 E-3 from JG 53

Re: Jagdgeschwader 53

Chris Goss' 'Brothers in Arms' details a number of the JG 53 sorties and combats versus 619 Sq. during the BoB. He also wrote 'The Luftwaffe Fighters' Battle of Britain' which has more information, also including some JG 53 actions.

Thank you Jim P. I will have to take a look at the 2 books you mentioned

Is there anyone who has any experience with getting information from the BA at Freiburg?
