Re: Control klappe from Bf109G10 with text: LW-3

Hello all,

Assuming that the three letters “gyq” visible in Post #307 are the Hersteller code of the manufacturer, it may have been built by:

Anton Wingen jun./ Dolche, verm.auch Handfeuerwaffen-Teile, Solingen, Gassstraße 54 (NW).

16401 is only the clamp, not the klappe i found this part number in the triebwerkverkleidungs numbers. That part number is at the left hand side upper cover engine.

I don't have any exact date but the JG3 emblem seems to have been applied on other aircraft in the same timeframe so it would likely have been applied on the aircraft you're researching as well. Cheers / Anders

Re: Control klappe from Bf109G10 with text: LW-3

Hi,

As I mentioned earlier, this hatch is from the bottom of the wings.

There is no curve to it, so it is not from the cowling.

The LW-3 is part of the ink stamp of the aluminum manufacture, nothing more (it has no meaning for the use or location of the hatch).

But this detail was also mounted under the wing and has got another painting colour:

https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...37388470227506

please compare with klappe:
https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...36649034436722

the same aircraft Bf109G10 made by Erla (mcu) in October - November 1944 (Werk Nr.490362).

How we can it explain ?

BR

Kris

Re: Control klappe from Bf109G10 with text: LW-3

i cant find a separate mentioning of item 16401 in the wing. The wartung klappe there are whole units with 1 codes in stead of multiple separate ones.
