Dakota crash bridestowe, Devon. info wanted.....

Many years ago I saw a photo of a Dakota that crashed during WW2 near Dartmoor. I have no info but if anyone has any info or even a copy of the photo.

When you say "Dakota" do you mean AAF or RAF?

It was a US bird, and came down near Bridestowe but cannot find anything on her!!

I remember the photo it was not too bad and a belly landing. There was a camp of US engineers based nearby and they helped with the recovery.
I am not going mad and there just seems to be nothing on the crash.

You can go month by month, year by year and do a word search for "C-47" and see what turns up.

Well been given some correct information, it was actually north tawton, Devon and the pilot lost his leg. Ring any bells???
