Re: Liberator KG887 'S'
Hi Gabor
KG887 was the former 44-10392 delivered at Dorval on 1.6.1944 from where it departed 18.6.1944 to the Middle East via Lagens. Arrived to Maison Blanche on 21.6.1944 where it was assigned to RAF 178 Sq based at Celone. It failed to return from a mission to raid marshalling yards at Szombathely in Hungaria 8.8.1944 an was struck off charge the next day. I suppose you know most of that of course. Any information on the crew? Source: Air Britain and their Liberator book B Rgds Stig |

Alex, are you positive KG887 was 30-319? What is your source?

Re: Liberator KG887 'S'
44-10392 is what is given in the Oughton's tome for Air Britain "The Liberator in RAF and Commonwealth Service." I can't find any reference to the individual Modification Centre Serial.

Re: Liberator KG887 'S'
No, but I have a photo of 30-319 taken by a member of 1586 (Polish) Flight alongside another Liberator used by that unit and I have assumed so far that it was KG890.
