KG2 and/or II./KG40 log books, August 1942

My annual appeal - motivated by hope! I continue to seek the crew responsible for the bombing of Middlesbrough railway station c. 1.00pm on Monday 3 August 1942. I believe that the unit responsible was KG2 or II./KG40. If anyone has log books for KG2 and/or II./KG40 covering this date, I would be grateful if they would inform me if the books contain any relevant details. I am familiar with the brief account in Balke's 'Der Luftkrieg in Europa'.

Thought they might be! Been trying for so long that I am beginning to think that it's all in my imagination!

Have you tried contacting Aircrew Remembrance Society? They seem to be selling a CDrom copy of a KG-2 Flugbuch with flights from 1940 to 1945.

Hi Bill - I did - but there's no mention of CD Rom log books for sale on their site as mentioned above.

No, but it does say on the opening page that Melvin Brownless looks after Luftwaffe research. His email address is given on the page. If you email him, he will help you. It does work. Good luck.
