Question Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

I am looking for all information about Russian unit 93 крап during 1-15 March in area of Pommern.
Unit full name :
93 ОАКРП = 93 отдельный разведывательный авиационный полк 16 ВА

I am not Russian, but have 2:

мл.л-т Канунников Василий Михайлович (MIA, 1923-1945.03.03.) - 93 ОКРАП
л-т Прокофьев Федор Иванович (MIA, 1923-1945.03.03.) - 93 ОКРАП

Both airmen were MIA on March 3, 1945. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Gabor

Nope, unfortunately not, as 93 OKRAP was not part of my research. I have loss records only for 5 and 17 VA OKRAP units, like 207 OKRAP and 96 OKRAP. They usually used Yak-9D (eg.: S/N: 17166035 from Omsk, factory no.166), Yak-9M (eg.: S/N: 3415313 from Novosibirsk, factory no.153) Recce. fighters AND IL-2KR Recce. IL-2s mixed, together. Those IL-2s in these OKRAP units were all from Factory No.1, so their serials were 5 digit long, like: 11505, 11915, 11757, etc.
Cheers,

Gabor

Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

I might have some serials for 16 VA losses, but they are from various sources and only by regiments, so first I would need some time to select the appropriate 16 VA units that I am still not familiar with, then to organize them. Right now I think I have some documents for eg. 57 BAP A-20 Bostons, which unit, I think, was part of 16 VA. Send me PM of the units you are interested in and I will check, this would be the easiest.

Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

I was thinking about the IL-2 serials of 16 VA in 1944-1945 and I think those planes could come from other factories as well. Typically Zavod 1. Sturmoviks (S/N: xxxx, 1xxxx) went to Southern fronts, Zavod 18. planes (S/N: 187xxxx, 187xxxxx, 188xxxx, 188xxxxx) went ~everywhere, Zavod 30. planes (S/N: 30xxxx) went mainly to the North. (Simply due to logistics and reasonable delivery distances.) Certainly there were always exceptions, but this seems to be the tendency, based on hundreds of loss records.
This can be verified by the applied factory camouflage patterns in many photos.
Cheers,

Gabor

Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

Kanunnikov-Prokofiev - a crew of IL-2KR
Il-2KR (spotter mod.) mass-produced factory number 1
www.airwar.ru/enc/spyww2/il2kr.html
93 OKRAP (also 93 OAKRP or 93 OKRKAP or 93 OAKRKP or 93 OKRABKOKP) - "93-й отдельный корректировочно-разведывательный Берлинский Краснознаменный ордена Кутузова авиационный полк"
also had planes Po-2 (night spotters) and Yak-1(?), Yak-9.

Question Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

Is it sure that 93 крап had got only IL-2KR ?
Is it possible could be IL-2m3 too ?

Somebody know factory no.167 (or S/N) ???? I'm very wonder this number. Any idea what mean ? - Could be also only 67.
Place: stamped on bracket.
Maybe Jak-9T ??

Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

I think this is not enough... 67 or 167 is NOT factory no. for IL-2 or Yak-9. Can be only a part number, or partial section of AC serial number - either/or, - still not much help. Need more info and numbers.

Re: Russian unit: 93 ОАКРП = (93 крап)

I think OKRAP units used entirely the IL-2KR version of the IL-2 family (beside other AC types). IL-2KR was a special modification for those units' role, the 'regular' IL-2m3 version was used by the countless ground attack regiments.
