Location of LW bases

Sachau

Best I can find is between Hamburg (closer) and Berlin but a map I have of LW bases does not show it.

La Fere

Again the map I have does not show it. Best I can find is a chateau west of Riems Fr.

Map is from http://jg26.vze.com/ > RLV Jagergradnetxkarte

Thanks for any help

Thanks Stephane. Could La Fere/Achery be Clastres on the map in my link above. From the map you supplied, it would seem to be in the correct place.

Re: Location of LW bases

I don't think so, there is another airfield there, St Simon Clastres, near Ham.
This airfield was latter used as a satellite base for the American wings based at Laon Couvron in the 50's / 60's.

Re: Location of LW bases

Hello Kutscha,
the book "Fliegerhorste und Einsatzhäfen der Luftwaffe" by Ries and Dierich gives following informations on Sachau:
35 km E of Wolfsburg, 10 km SW of Gardelegen, landing strip with turf, coordinates 52º28'20'' N, 11º17'00'' E.
Hope this helps
Robert
