Abandoned Ju 88 with Wellenmuster

Hi all,

Attached is a photo of an abandoned Ju 88 with wellenmuster camouflage, possibly in Italy.

Can anyone ID this aircraft?

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Re: Abandoned Ju 88 with Wellenmuster

I believe this be Ju 88 A-4 300320 PI+SX (088/300230) this is reported in GQM as of I/KG 76 blown up 20.09.1943 - "Found shot up Foggia Sattelite No.3 Airfield in Italy, autumn 1943". Some other images exist of it, including some two in colour. The X is visible there aft of cross. In background is "Tent city"

FYI - 550258 (F1+AA) is most likely correctly indentifyed there (written just 550258 in records), but it had large number "258" on nose - and that one had both engines removed on the only photo I have seen - in background are "airport buildings" (no tents) but I have no image of it from the left side.

Re: Abandoned Ju 88 with Wellenmuster

I think Ed is right. Attached is a color photo from an old eBay auction showing PI+SX. It looks like it's the same a/c as in my photo.

Thanks both Roland & Ed for your input. Very much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Rudi.
