Rudi Muller JG5

Hi guys

Did Rudi Muller claim 4 Hurricanes and a bomber of 3 April 1942, and NOT 23 April 1942, as suggested on a number of websites

Cheers
Brian

Re: Rudi Muller JG5

I don't think so. I've got a JG 5 "Eismeer" monography and there is also mentioned about Muller that he claimed five enemy planes on 03.04.1942.

Eric Mombeek's book Eismeerjäger Band 2 discusses Müller's combat on 23 April 1942. See pages 163 and 164.

Hi Chuck

I'm afraid that I don't have a copy!

What's the gist of his piece?

Re: Rudi Muller JG5

Seems to confirm 4 hurricanes and a SB claimed on 23 April. It is all in German of which I have some knowledge. If you PM me I can try to scan it for you.

Re: Rudi Muller JG5

Thanks Chuck

However I can gain access to a copy nearer home, complete with a translation!

But a kind offer.

Hopefully that photo you allowed me to use should appear in print soon, probably early next year.

Cheers
Brian
