Jim Crow photo: He 50 DA+VL
Hello!
Some time ago I paged through a book Sea Eagles by Peter C. Smith(Luftwaffe at War, vol. 17, Stackpole Books, 2001) . There was one photo of He 50 with Stkz DA+VL and the photo was credited to Jim Crow. Heinkel 50 was the main equipment of NSGr 11. November 14th, 1943 took place a flying accident where a He 50 was destroyed without casualties. According to some sources it was WNr. 1461, according to some others DA+VL, WNr 1255 ! On the photo mentioned the Werke Nummer of He 50 DA+VL is visible painted on the fin tip. On the printed picture it is completely unreadable. It looks to me that it should be possible to "press" the number out from original photo, althouh it's not sharp. He 50 WNr/Stkz -puzzle is a nightmare and it looks like here is one which could be solved. Is there some kind soul who could help me with this particular matter? Thanking in advance, Kari |
