The aircraft was Arado Ar 196A-2 W.Nr. 0059 T3+EH of Bordfliegerstaffel 1./196. They crashed during landing off Schellingwoude seaplanestation.
Unfortunately, I have no further info of the crew.

Hi Jaap and Seaplanes,

I've no further info on both crewmembers, but I can add that the crashlanding happened at 22.45 hrs local time.

The Arado couldn't land at Schellingwoude as an attack was carried out on that seaplane base by Beaufort L9790 OA-G of 22 Squadron piloted by F/Lt A. R. H. Beauman.

Jaap, do you perhaps have a picture of the received memorial plate?

Seaplanes, I have T3+KH as code, can you perhaps check your original source?

Thanks and best regards,
Hans Nauta

Hello All,

Hans the T3+KH was shot down at the 22nd of December 1940,when it was on patrol. The Arado startted from the Cruiser Admiral Hipper.

The Arado who crashed on the 31 of August, crashed 4 miles from the Dyke from Nijkerk and not near the base of Schellingwoude.A few years ago the Royal Dutch Airforce found at the crashsite two bombs off 50 kg.

Thanks for the other information,

regards Jaap
