A little puzzle but i think i might solved it.
Earl W Thomas Jr 815424 Pilot KIA P-47 42-75263 (359th Fighter Group 370th Fighter Squadron) enemy fighter on the way back, crashed 19:30 Houtrakpolder w of Machineweg at Spaarnwoude Hol 22-04-1944 MACR 4137. Last seen 18:50 over Hamm Gr in MACR 4137. 1 claim Feldwebel Günther Schmidt 6./JG 1 "Oesau"Planquadrat 05 Ost N/HA — which translates directly to the Amsterdam / Spaarnwoude area. No-other P-47 claims in this area. Am i correct in me thinking Thomas was shot down and killed by Schmidt? KUJ-880 is Earl W Thomas Jr.
