Ju87B Stuka with a chevron

Hello,

I've just returned from a three-week research trip to Europe, and need some help. Sometime during the past three weeks, probably about two weeks ago, I saw an eBay listing for a Ju87B carrying a chevron with its unit codes. I could not bid on it at the time, nor save the image. Now I can't find it. I may have seen it on Ed West's listing, but am not sure. Does anyone remember seeing this or perhaps saved a copy?

Any help here would be appreciated.

Regards

Roger,

Thanks, I didn't spot it there, but thanks for the post. Still looking for the eBay auction number.

I am fairly sure I have one showing a similarly marked Stuka; it came from the family of Grahl who before he went to KG 40 was with StG 1

Simon Schatz is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Ju87B Stuka with a chevron

Maybe possible that it had the markings <F1+AN?? If yes it was the Ju 87 B-2 flown by Hptm. Gerhard Bauhaus, Staffelkapitäm of 8./ST.G.77, Russia 1941

Source: Stuka, by Peter C. Smith, Classic Publication

If not, it would be very interesting to see this plane with the chevron.

Cheers, Simon

Larry, I think you're looking for this particular photo:

[Auction number: 140177771298]

By the way, the photo went to... Sudek13.

Re: Ju87B Stuka with a chevron

My mistake. It is I/StG 76 and is an airborne shot of a Stuka with a badge on the nose and a single chevron

Re: Ju87B Stuka with a chevron

Hello,

Thanks guys, especially Dénes, you came through for me. Dénes had the correct reference to what I saw. This raises the whole issue of unit codes and fighter stab symbols on Ju87s, so I'm going to open a new post about that subject. I think that this is Stab I./St.G.76, but trying to piece together the correct coding and markings of that unit has been a bit of a challenge.

Thanx,
