Re: US crew captured Norway 14 April 1942
Did some further digging. USN aviators apparently taken POW by members of Heeres Küsten Artillerie Regiment 993 (possibly later known as HKB 1/978) at Skudenes.

Re: US crew captured Norway 14 April 1942
Hi,
Anyone know if the a/c came down in the sea and if so were the crew rescued by ship, and where ? or on land ? if on land then the question of what happened to the a/c arises. Alex |

Re: US crew captured Norway 14 April 1942
Hi Alex
As I understand it, the aircraft came down in the sea off Skudenes and the crew rescued by a Norwegian fishing boat. Cheers Brian |

Hello Brian,
Many thanks for that. I had just thought of those photos of French Vindecators and that just maybe one might have been a captured US Navy a/c. Alex |
