Hans,

According this site http://www.cbi-history.com/part_xvi_a.html the only air victory of the IAF in WW II was by a Hurricane of No. 6 Squadron (shot down a Japanese Oscar in Feb. 44). If so, you can rule out a victory by a Vengeance for the IAF...

Regards,

Leendert

Hans,
This article also seems to suggest that no victories were claimed by Vengeance pilots in RAF, IAF or RAAF service...: http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Hi...nce-Tales.html

This is entirely correct. Flying Officer Jagdish Chandra Verma of 6 Squadron scored the IAF's only air victory of the war on 15th February 1944. For this he was awarded the DFC. I have a copy of Verma's combat report for this engagement so if any are interested PM me.

Cheers,

Tim
