				Re: Junkers Ju88H-1
Then this could be Ju 88 H-1 W.Nr. 0880430951 DO+FS that went missing with 3.(F)/123 on 31.07.44 - I do not have unit code. cheers ed |

				Re: Junkers Ju88H-1
I haven't reviewed the "Jet and Prop" magazines BUT: Flugzeug magazine issues 90-1 page 42 has a multi-page article on this “Die Lange Ju 88H” and page 46 has a tabulated summary of all variants. The article is repeated in english as well. Flugzeug magazine issue 90-2 continues the story on page 57. Camouflage appears to be conventional 70/71/65 "bomber" style. Units that used then seem to be 3.(F)/123 and KG 101 as Misteln. I hope this helps. DS |

				Re: Junkers Ju88H-1
Hi Doug; You mean 70/71/65 ´Recce´ style, because The H-1 was Recce machine, and other H´s (sic) used as Mistel 2 were G-based (not D-1 as the H-1 was) right? I do not remember ever to have seen an H-1 as Misteln, those I have seen in print stated as H´s all had the larger G-tail. cheers ed |

				Re: Junkers Ju88H-1
Doug, Ed... Thanks for your additional information, guys. I am led to believe that technically speaking, the H-1 was designed as a reconnaissaince bomber... but apparently was only used in the former role. I also understand that some 'H' machine went towards the Mistel programme, but if so, I imagine they were perhaps modified, as I too have never seen anything other than the 'G' style squared-off tailplane on the 'stretched' Mistel variant, which was apparently the G-10 sub-type. Regards... |
