At that date the III.StG.2 suffers rather serious adversity, among them , the wound of Hptm Brücker the then Sta.ka. of 9. Staffel, on the returns is radio is given as dead, but he still flew in the Balkan nd russian campaigns, his name ofw Lehmann did any other radio flew with Brücker on 16.Aug. 1940 ,,???

I have no record of LEHMANN on August 16, 1940, only the following losses to III./StG2:

Stab III./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Returned damaged following combat with fighters off Selsey Bill 1.00 p.m. FF Hptmn Heinrich Brücker (Gruppenkommandeur) and BF Uffz Alfred Zimmer both slightly wounded. Aircraft damage state not recorded.

7./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Shot down by fighters in combat off Selsey Bill 1.00 p.m. FF Lt Fritz-Oskar Kühn and BF Gefr Josef Wenzel both missing. Aircraft 100% write-off.

7./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Shot down in combat with fighters over Selsey Bill and believed crashed in the Channel 1.00 p.m. FF Uffz Hans Liebing and BF Uffz Alfred Wiartalla both missing. Aircraft 100% write-off.

7./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Set alight in attack by fighters during combat off the Isle of Wight and abandoned over Poole Harbour 1.00 p.m. FF Fw Gerhard Gräfenhain baled out and captured badly wounded in both legs, BF Uffz Johannes Voigt missing. Aircraft 100% write-off.

7./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Shot down in combat with fighters over Selsey Bill and believed crashed in the Channel 1.00 p.m. FF Uffz Richard Serwottka and BF Gefr Karl Wagner both missing. Aircraft 100% write-off.

8./StG2 Junkers Ju87B-1. Returned damaged by fighters during combat over Selsey Bill 1.00 p.m. FF Uffz Gerhard Schütz badly wounded, gunner unhurt. Aircraft damage state not recorded.

9./StG2 Junkers Ju87B. Returned badly damaged following combat with fighters over Selsey Bill 1.00 p.m. FF Uffz Willi Knabe badly wounded, BF Obergefr Werner Nobis killed. Aircraft damage state not recorded.

Believe his Bf was Stfw Helmut Lehmann but not 16 Aug 40. There was also a Oblt Hans-Joachim Lehmann with 8/StG 2 but was a pilot. Note he was also not St Kap but Gr Kdr

On his log-book the bf appeared to be Lehmann ofw then Stfw for that day his usual bf , Brücker seems to hv very carefully completed his log
but we never know....

Flugbuch definitely says Lehmann but NVM says 55548/22 Uffz Alfred Zimmer born 15 Apr 20 in Beutgengrund
