Peter Spoden and Schräge Musik

Dear friends,

please take a look on a video recently added to the website of my good friend and a long time member of this board, Mr Peter Spoden.

Peter shows with modern A-26 how he used the Schräge Musik
-tactics against Lancasters. Very interesting!

All best,

Thank you , i enjoyed that.

They had to come really really close in the dark. Until i saw it I knew the range but never realized it was that close to the target.

Thank you, Raimo, for posting that clip.
All the best,
George
PS. If I had one quibble it would be that the A-26 just flies past the Lancaster. In fact, the night fighter would synchronize its speed to that of the bomber for easier aiming of its guns, whether from behind or from underneath.

Re: Peter Spoden and Schräge Musik

In conversation with Peter a couple of years ago, I mentioned this staging and how that it wasn't entirely realistic for the reasons George mentioned. Peter said the issue was with the safety-conscious A-26 pilot, who was not at all keen on close formation underneath the Lancaster!
