Message to PENDERS re 460 SQdn Loss ED759 AR-X

Hello PENDERS,
Re your question on the RAAF message board in the ADF site.
ED759 lost on 29/30-5-1943
Sgt H.E. Bull RAAF killed along with the rest of his crew.
All taken to Dússeldorf for burial in the Nordfriedhoh, sincewhen their remains have been brought to the Reichswald Forrest War Cemetery.
The above details from Bomber Command Losses 1943 vol 4 by W R Chorley.

PS hope that you have seen this message.I tried several times to post on the ADF RAAF message board but although loged in and subscribed and password accepted was giuven the message when I posted the info to the effect that I was not permitted to send. I then tried to send mail to the administrators but even that mail was refused i have given up trying on that site to contact you or to reply or post messages hence my attempt to contact you here on 12O'Clock web site.

FYI the only other Australian crew member that I can find who was killed on 30.5.1943 from 460 Sqn was Tom Taylor Rank Flight Sergeant [Flt Sgt] Service Number 413803 Unit 460 Sqn Service RAAF Conflict 1939-1945 Date of Death 30 May 1943 Place of Death Germany Kind regards Ross

Summary:
Lancaster ED 759 took off from RAF Binbrook on the night of 29/30 May 1943 to attack Wuppertal, Germany. Bomb Load was 1 x 4000lb bomb and 48 x 30lb, 6600 x 4lb incendiaries. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it did not return to base. Twelve aircraft from the squadron took part in the raid.

RAF Sgt Sherratt, F C (Navigator)
RAF Sgt Munday, D R (Air Bomber)
RAF Sgt Willars, P C (Wireless Operator Air Gunner)
RAF Sgt Powis, G G (Flight Engineer)
RAF Sgt Anderson, R M (Air Gunner)
RAF Sgt Meech, A W G (Air Gunner)
Post war it was established that the aircraft crashed at Remscheld-Luttring-Hausen and all the crew were killed. Flt Sgt Bull is interred in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany.
