Link with a couple of pictures of Muto. A quick search didn't immediately turn up a photo of a 'Shiden' or 'George' flown by Muto, but you might look further among the search hits for:
'武藤金義', first two characters are his family name 'Muto', second two his given name 'Kaneyoshi' (who I assume you are speaking of, I don't know of a pilot Kinsuke Muto), and Shiden, '紫電'

Re: Jap ace - K.Muto

Picture and story (disputed elsewhere) of Muto in the online (books.google) Osprey series "Imperial Japanese Navy Aces 1937-45", page 93.

Perhaps Muto is called a Japanese ace today instead of a "Jap" ace?

Regards,

Leendert

Pilot is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Jap ace - K.Muto

F100- gentleman above provide to you useful info for finding this pilot. As well you are live in Brazil, I would like to suggest you to try to contact Sidnei Maneta, his is illustrator and work with some proven researchers in the field of the Japanese aviation history. On this board is also active David Aiken and I hope that he would also spot your interest and be able to help you.

One note- term Jap or Japs is used regularly during the WW2 but today this is offending term, something like term n****r for black people. I am sure that you did not have informed about this so please if possible, do not use this term in future.

Cheers
