I´m looking for info about "Stubendorf, Bayern" Luftwaffe airbase? Is it some base for Luftwaffe Transport units?

Re: Stubendorf base

Hello!

Stubendorf was a Luftwaffe air base but was in Poland (name is now Izbicko). There were four large hangars whose locations are still visible, and for one of them its concrete base. This does not mean it was a transport base, such a configuration was typical for all German bases of the thirties...According to Nick Beale in one paper on the use of the CR-42 in the NSGr 9 Stubendorf was Night/Blind flying training base, which makes a lot of sense considering its remoteness from the front(s).

That was for SG 111 but I don't have information about other units that may have used Studendorf at different times.

Re: Stubendorf base

Barkas,
The unit of Bf 110 270185 is not JG 102 but 4./NJG 102.
Were Ogfr. Anton Schmidt and Fw. Frits Klügel pilots ?

Re: Stubendorf base

Thanks Frans, evidently JG 102 bad, NJG 102 is correct, are you sure with 4.Staffel? It isn´t usually part of NJG 102.
I´m not sure but I think the training of SG 111 night Stuka´s was without second crewmember, isn´t it?

Gentelmen.
Might I suggest that one might refer to Larry deZeng's super compilation of airfield data via the link: http://www.ww2.dk/lwairfields.html

For Stubendorf, the known associated flying units were:

Operational Units: 3.(F)/Aufkl.Gr. 31 (Aug-Sep 39); 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 41 (Aug-Sep 39); 3.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 41 (Aug-Sep 39); I./JG 76 (Sep 39); Stab, I., II./KG 54 (Jun 41); Verbindungsstaffel 63 (Nov-Dec 41); 4./NSGr. 2 (Jan-Feb 44); 1./NSGr. 1 (May-Jun 44); 2.(F)/Aufkl.Gr. 11 (Jul-Aug 44); 2.(F)/Aufkl.Gr. 100 (Jul-Dec 44); Stab/FAGr. 3 (Aug 44 – Jan 45); 4.(F)/Aufkl.Gr. 121 (Sep 44 – Feb 45); 14.(Eis.)/KG 27 (Aug-Sep 44); 1./NSGr. 5 (Sep-Nov 44); II./NJG 5 (Oct 44 – Jan 45); I./SG 4 (Nov-Dec 44); 2./NSGr. 10 (Nov-Dec 44); I./SG 5 (Dec 44). Other: 102. Hungarian Night Ground-Attack Squadron (May-Jun 44).
School Units: FFS A/B 110 (Dec 39 – Jul 43); BFS 11 (Jul – Oct 43); III./NJG 102 (Sep – Dec 44); SG 111 (Oct 43 – Jan 45).
