A small bulge on Fw190 D11/D13?
Hello Pikas
These bulges featured on the Fw 190 D-11, D-12 and D-13 engine cowls were due to the fact that these types used the larger Ta 152 engine mounts to fit the Jumo 213 E engine that they were equipped with. The earlier Fw 190 D-9 utilized the Jumo 213 A engine with different engine mounts that did not require any bulges for clearance. I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo |
