Re: Oblt Fürhing I./JG77

Hi,

Morten Jessen and I say a little about this officer in our recently released book, Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily.

Karl Führing began ground-attack pilot training with the Ergänzungszerstörergruppe at Deblin-Irena on 11 September 1942, and joined the 8. Staffel of III./Z.G. 2 later that month or in October. He participated in the German fighter-bomber raid on Canterbury
on 31 October 1942, and then went to Tunisia with the unit. He did not fly any operations in North Africa. In 1943 he joined the Geschwaderstab of S.K.G. 10.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Re: Oblt Fürhing I./JG77

His last flight in Deblin - Irena was on September 29, 1942, and his first flight in 8./ ZG 2 on October 07, 1942.

Best wishes
Rasmussen
