Succes of SKG 210 on 22.6.41?

There are information written by Hptm W. Strop of I/SKG 210, that Gruppe had done 13 mission on 14 airfield and destroyed 344 planes on the ground plus 8 next were shot down.

I wonder if there are information, exactly which Soviet airfield were attacked by this unit on this day?
Most were on the Soviet Western Front, but which one?

Regards,
mirekw

Mirek,
The Russian author Mark Solonin has a new book (in Russian) out on the attacks on the airfields and in the air during the first few weeks of the 22 Jun 41 attack. I haven't seen it yet so I can't tell you much more.

Re: Succes of SKG 210 on 22.6.41?

Sorry but always depends, Sołonin has own attitiude to the subject and besides some errors mostly is using documents, memories, some other works too, but nothing mitology, abuot "terrible" and as usuela never unsuspect" air attack at dawn on 22.06.1941

What would you like better recomended kalender1973:
D. Chazanow, 1941 gorkie uroki?
or Jegorow, Rozgrom zapadnowo fronta?
Or maybe G. Zukow with his big "memories"?
or Kożewnikow, Komandowanie i sztab WWS..., from late70. This is standard, classic lectures abut this subject, is it not?.

Before you say, that someting is "shit", do it better yourself, becasue always it is so simple and easy to talking, :-)

One man is very strong in talking such empty bull shit. Present your works, and then we will see your real value as a top authority about such verdict.

At last but not least, I do not ask about value of Rezun/Suworow or Sołoning, but about total different topic.
Both authors have not yet mentioned about list of airfiled attacked by SKG 210 and its succes on 22.6.41!

I know at least seven:
Wysokie Mazowieckie near Zambrów + second near Łomża, both for 124. IAP;
Prużany of 33. IAP;
near Pińsk - Żabczyce of 39. SBAP;
Małe Zwody of 74. SZAP;
Kobryń - Imienin od 123. IAP
plus Volkovysk.

Keep the topic kalender 1973.

Regards
mirekw

Re: Succes of SKG 210 on 22.6.41?

Mirek:

I have already finished the chapter about 22.6.41 - 30.6.41, about SKG210 actions.

I can say - not even one of any known writers are right about SKG210 actions. Solonin have 90% of his material as only speculation, and 10% - of largely known sourses.

Same with other authors.

I./SKG210 operated over Maly Zvody > Imenin > Pinsk > Wolkovysk > Baranovichi. First attack of SKG210 in USSR was on Maly Zvody, 1./SKG210 lone, led by Oblt. Schenk, demolished 74 ShAP.

Then they punched 39 SBAP at Pinsk, and 123 IAP at Imenin (Kobrin). At evening they came to Baranowichi.

II./SKG210 punched Wysokie-Mazowetcke and demolished 124 IAP, wich was under attacks of Gruppe during almost 6 hours. Then, 126 IAP at Dolubowo.

Then - Wolkowysk airfield, and at last - they strafed Pruzhany airfield, destroying last a/c of 33 IAP.

All detailes will be in my and Andre Stewart's book.

Re: Succes of SKG 210 on 22.6.41?

Hi Evgeny
The problem is with raport of Hptm Strom, in it he mentioned 13 mission on 14 airfileds, and you have mentioned 5-6, as me airfileds.
Maybe it is about attack done by both units of I and II/SKG 210? The it its?

74. SzAP, after first attack had lost only 15 I-15bis and I-153 plus 2 Ił-2, others planes were leaved, and whole unit had fast withdrown back. Second, there was also KAO unit on the same airfiled, which was also "smashed" at dawn. There were also air combats, when one I-153 was shot down, fighter was from 123. IAP, if right remeber, pilot KIA.

124. IAP had its bases on two airfield: Wysokie Mazowieckie (only 2 flights/escadrilas) and next one was 5 km from Łomża. The first was leaved without fight before 12.00 am.
Only second were operated by next 2 flights of 124. IAP: early in the morning Kokorin's taran done against Do 17 Z and later one victory claimed by capt. Kruglov (after 11.15 - before 11.40?). This airfiled was also 2 or 3 times attacked by Me 110. maybe by SKG 210?

The distance between both are not so long (25-35 km away). Only the 6 MiG-3 from Lomza had withdrawn later to the back. Often is forgotten, that this 124. IAP was split into two similiar group before 22.06.
I supposes that Łomża was 3 times attacked and Wysokie Mazowieckie 2 times on 22.06.

BTW there were two 100% losses, including crews, of 4./ SKG 210, both according German done by A/A fire, I wonder if one of them man can write on Kokorin's accounts? There are no exacte time of theses losses, only location?

17 SB of 39. SABP had took off and made air attack on the Bug (before LW attack done about 8.00), and later landed in Baranowicze, only the rest were attack (26 SB + 9 Pe-2), but a little later on the same place had just come a group of 7 SB from 24. SBAP of 13. BAD (which probaly were destroyed too?). Before they come they had done air attack on Germans in Bug area and had met Me 109 of JG 51.

This airfield had also 46. OAE PWF, which about 50% was demolished. I have four attack done by Germans on this airfield on 22.06.41. If I am right the last attack was done before 14.00 and later was "silience" as on 22.06.

Wolkovysk, I do not have any data about Soviet's units there?

33. IAP on Prużany was also leaved by the crews before 12.00 a.m. The last attacks done by pilots of Me 109s of JG 51 were after 9. p.m. on leaved airfiled. Much earlier Soiet personel got orders to withdrown to Pinsk.
He 111s and Me 110s had 2 attacks on the morning.

Regards,
mirekw

Mirek - You are very far from reality concerning 74 ShAP and 124 IAP.

I have close details on each attack made by SKG210 on that days (whole june) on each airfield. And "who shot who down's" too

Just wait when book will be published. In english, of course.

Re: Succes of SKG 210 on 22.6.41?

Mars - title (i guess) - would be "Geschichte des Schnellkampfgeschwader 210". Authors - me and Andre Stewart.

It will contain 10 chapters. At this moment, I have lots of material for 6-7 chapters, and only 1 is almost finished. 2nd is on the way...

I think book will be done in next 2-3 years.
