Heinrich Klopper 3./Jg2?

Hi guys

I suspect that Heinrich Klopper made four claims with 3./Jg2 during February and March 1943 as an Oberfeldwebel/Leutnant, which would be the exact time he was promoted to officer, and during an empty time I have in his biography! I can find no loss for the Heinz Klopper I have with 3./Jg2, and suspect they are one and the same, but this is contrary to what we are led to believe.

Can anybody confirm, or deny my thoughts on this?

Regards

Johannes

Oberfeldwebel Heinrich Klöpper 3./JG 2

Hello Johannes

I hope that you had a pleasant vacation and nice holidays. Your suspicions that Klöpper served with 3./JG 2 are correct. Christer Bergström in More Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile writes "With eighty-two marks on his killboard, Klöpper was posted to I./JG 2 Richthofen in the spring of 1943..." and Prien in JFV 10/IV lists him with four victories during his time with that Staffel.

84 13.3.1943 15:30 Spitfire 30 km W Sommemündung at 7,000 m
85 28.3.1943 12:31 Spitfire S Beachy Head at 8,000 m

I hope that you are well and that this helps you.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Heinrich Klopper 3./Jg2?

Hi Leo

Thanks for that, seems Ernst Obermeier missed that, but likewise I find them to be numbers 82-85, so can safely assume that we have come to the same conclusion!
