for 1943 I found 8 persons named Nowak - but none named Hans and none of them lost or wounded in Africa, so for 1943 the GQM files are realy complete, I think he wasn´t a member of the "Fliegendes Personal" -.

I believe the card translates as ''?G Pilot - holder of the EKII who on 22-2-1943 one day after his 19th.birthday in far off Africa his life gave for his beloved homeland''. Could any body confirm this and what the ?G is, like Khorat I could not find him in the QM's list. I looked in the Jan to April period. Could he have died on the 22nd. Feb following a much earlier wounding, or been washed ashore and buried on 22-2-1943 following an earlier shot down in 1942.

Hello,

This soldier was a trained glider pilot, the notation"LS-Pilot" does stand for "Lastensegler-Pilot" or translated glider pilot.

He did belong towards the Lw. feldregt. Barenthin and he was KIA on that very day. It is known that certain company's from that regiment did do an assault on a englisch positions.

Cordial greetings,

Hi,

Can you tell me more about that regiment. Was he in a feld division of parachute regiment?
