707 NBAP on 4 March 1942
Hello,
A long shot, but this is a question mainly for our Russian friends. On 4 March 1942, according to the webpage http://allaces.ru/cgi-bin/s2.cgi/sss...t/p/bap707.dat, 707 NBAP lost four men MIA/KIA in Leningrad area: _ Lt Ivan Kolesnikov (gunner) was shot down and killed by German aircraft in Davydovo area. _ St.Lt Nikolai Ivanovich Tkach (pilot) was shot down and killed by German aircraft in Ivankovo area. _ a crew (Sgt Aleksey Kornilov and Sgt Vinokurov) did not return from a recon in Pashino - Zamoshe area. This unit was flying Po-2 according to this website. On the German side, two pilots of 3./JG 54, Fw. Gerhard Lautenschläger and Lt Otto Vinzent, each claimed a R-5 shot down this afternoon at an unknown place, respectively at 1440 hrs (13th victory) and at 1600 hrs (7th victory). Fw Rudolf Rademacher also claimed a R-5 but one witness and his claim was rejected. I just wondered if it was possible to link these claims with 707 NBAP losses. I am especially interested to know if 707 NBAP lost two (it is possible that the first two men above were flying the same aircraft but their bodies were found in two different places) or three aircraft this day. Thanks in advance Laurent |
