Fw 190, werknummer 680413

Hello,

Could somebody tell me to which unit this aircraft belonged ? it was left by the Germans on the Angers' airdrome (West of France), when they withdrew from the area, early in August 1944 ... and the Luftwaffe fighters units based in July 1944 in this area (II JG 53, I & IV JG 27) were equiped with Me 109 G6 !

All additional information about this aircraft would be appreciated : type, date of production ...

Many thanks

Pierre any photos of the Fw 190 ? Might be a SturmFw A-8/R2 of IV.Sturm/JG 3 left in France before it's withdrawl to Reich defence in Germany and it's first big action on 07-07-44

Hello Pierre,

This Fieseler-built Fw 190 A-8 is perhaps "black 1", a merely photographed aircraft in Angers-Avrillé. He retained his full markings until the fall of 1944. Seen from the right side, this 190 doesnt carry any Werk Nummer or RV-band. One year later the original camouflage scheme was badly faded by the elements. I always assumed it was a I./JG 1 machine... but it's far to be sure. How did you find this Werk Nummer ? Are you owning an aircraft's part ?

Hals und Beinbruch !
