Re: Four Pictures
Franck,
The second image seems to show a 109 G (G 6 ?) of IV/JG3 in italy in Summer 1943. The wavy line is very characterisctic of that Gruppe. Cheers |

Re: Four Pictures
Salut Franck,
#1: the small wheel bulges on the wing, the refined cowling bulges, the horse-shoe type oil tank and the oil filler cap hatch in the lower position are clear indicators for a Bf 109 G-6/AS or G-14/AS. #3: same characteristics as #1, so also a Bf 109 G-6/AS or G-14/AS. No unit signs can be seen. The W.Nr. can be guessed, applied on the upper part of the fin. This a common practice for Mtt built machines. #4: shot taken at Bonn-Hangelar in late March 1945, showing the wreck of WNF built Bf 109 G-8 W.Nr. 202 113 "Grüne 7", unit unknown. Hitchcock 1977, p. 4. Cheers Marc |

Re: Four Pictures
Bonsoir Marc,
Merci! Page 4 for Hitchcock???? I was sure it wasn't Yellow 7. Funny, "Four pictures" attracts more curiosity than "Bf109 on eBay" !!! Or perhaps it's because of YOU!!! .@Miguel, I think I/We have another picture of that White 10. (For me the camouflage is more symptomatic of a production (WNF, Erla ...) than a unit; so, I don't know. But let's check!) Sorry Miguel, wrong answer! you talked about WAVY line, you mean IV. Gr. identification!!! OK, OK! Cheers, Franck. |

Re: Four Pictures
hm not realy sure - but #3 looks like a JG 53 109, downed march 26th by AA-fire near the rhine-crossing at Hamm, but then it must be a late G modell (?).
The pilot killed in the belly landing - not realy sure, but from the area- specially the houses seen in the background - it could be.... khorat |

Re: Four Pictures
Hello Khorat,
... Means you have another picture to compare?? For the moment I've nothing obvious to check. But Marc is right, G-6/14/AS, no problemo. Franck. |

Re: Four Pictures
no - sorry no picture availiable here - just about the location, street and houses behind, looking exactly like the place it happend.
When it happend - just some hundred meters near a US Camp where the troops prepare for the river rhine crossing, so a lot of GI´s been there in a minute or two. khorat |
