Wilhelm Roth's post JG26 history.
Hi Guys
Can't get over why I no so little about this quite successful oberfeldwebel. Between 18th May 1940 and 14th October 1943 he claimed twenty Allied aircraft with II./JG26, was awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on 29th April 1943, yet after his claim on 14th October 1943 I here nothing more about him, he seems not to have been wounded or killed! I presume he became a trainer, and sure enough I found a Leutnant Willy Roth as Staffelkapitan of 4./JG103 from 19th October 1944 until 14th February 1945(not quite until the units dis-bandment). I would love to see somebody confirm they are the same guy, also if they are the same guy what was he doing for a year between his last claim and taking-up the Staffelkapitan job, and what of him after February 1945? Grateful for any assistance. Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: Wilhelm Roth's post JG26 history.
Hello,
yes it's the same guy. He ended the war with Galland's Jagdverband 44. Not sure if he was participating in any Me 262-missions here, though. Greetz ghost |
