unknown USAAF patch 1943-44 to identify
Attachment 6146
Hi all, here an unknown USAAF jacket-patch interesting to identify; maybe a fighter school unit in USA? Pilot was in 1944 a P47 squadron in ETO, but that one patch maybe used by him earlyer as still training? Thanks for any help! Mathias |

Can you give us a little more detail on the pilot in question or what ETO Jug unit he was with? Even posting the entire photo might give more of a clue

Re: unknown USAAF patch 1943-44 to identify
Hi ,
pilot was in 367th FS, 358th FG in late 1944, but that one patch is not the one of the 367th FS (a bloody vulture called "gruseome Gus"). Possibly the attached patch would be the one from the 443th FS? He flew in that training squadron on Richmond base, Virginia, before flying in ETO in summer 1944. Could someone confirm that? thanks, Mathias |
