Oblt Kahse 1/JG 26

Has anyone information on this chap? He flew as Priller's wingman in 1941, got 2 kills in Jul 41 and gets shot down 14 Jun 41 but that is all I can find on him

Chris,

I have him with IV./JG 3 in March 1944, when he downed P-38 in 8th.

Regards,
Michal

Re: Oblt Kahse 1/JG 26

Could be Hptm Siegmund Kahse. Said his 8 Mar 44 kill was his first and last although he had 2 with JG 26. I am sure that Doug and Larry will come up with something more

Re: Oblt Kahse 1/JG 26

There isn't much because he didn't make Hptm. until August 1943:

KAHSE, Siegmund. 14.06.41 Oblt., in 1./JG 26. 01.08.43 at LKS 9, promo to Hptm. 03.44 Hptm., in Stab IV./JG 3 (to 08.03.44 †).

Re: Oblt Kahse 1/JG 26

Hi,

can it be that there are something not correct? sometimes i read in english datas Siegfried K. , Werner K. and Sigmund K. too, in german i only find Kohse (in Volksbund too) . then i read diff. datas bout + 08.03.44/ 03.08.44 and +06.08.44

KOHSE Siegfried + 06.08.44 Brandenburg - Havel crematorium , *21.101925

maybe interesting this list Stand (< means current datas at 01.08.1944 - list written at 07.08.1944 (match in page 5 Olt. Kohse) http://www.gyges.dk/Jlo%20abschuessse.pdf

LG Sis

No Siegfried KOHSE in our data base - only a Wilhelm K who belonged to the Ln.-Truppe and not the Fliegertruppe:

KOHSE, Wilhelm. 01.07.42 promo to Oblt.(Kr.O.). 01.02.45 Oblt. and Chef 25.(mittl.Flugm.Leit-Kp.)/Ln.-Rgt. 223.

Re: Oblt Kahse 1/JG 26

A check of the Tom Kracker datapile reveals a few more details:

Kahse, Sigmund (Werner)Oblt31/JG-26 (6/41), Stab IV/JG-3 (3/44)Bf 109E-7 werk # 4105 "White 5" (lost in JG-26), Bf 109FEK 1 & 2, Fighter Operational ClaspShot down w/o injury on 14 June, 1941 by a Spitfre of RAF No. 603 Sq.. He was rescued from the Channel. One known victory, his 1st, a Spitfire 20 km north northwest of Coxyde on 8 July, 1941. His 2nd, a Spitfire 15 km from Calais Rig, near Dunkirk. His 3rd, recorded in JG-3, a P-38 at Wolmirstedt on 8 March, 1944.

Hope this helps.
