Hi Mike,
they were from IV./KG 51. Most likely between March and August 1944.

Regards,

Norbert

Re: Me410's II./KG51?

Hello Norbert,

As you know my interest is with Lt Wolfgang Wenning of Stab II./KG51. One thing that has always puzzled me is the aircraft letter size 'P' Do you know if it was the same size as the the smaller 9K?

I understand Lt Wenning was from Stab II./KG51 but his Me410 belonged to 6./KG51

I have attached a couple of images and welcome any comments

Regards,
Mike

From what I've seen, the marking took the same form as on KG 51's Me 262s — first, second and fourth letters all small (and the same size), individual letter normal size.

Re: Me410's II./KG51?

The photos I have from V/KG 2 show a small U5 then a normal sized CX/HX/UX which appear plain with no border. However, that was 13/KG 2 not II/KG 51 (which was what V/KG 2 became)

I have some other images of II./KG 51 Me 410 aircraft and they display the codes as Nick described. Small 9K+ Normal aircraft letter followed by small Staffel letter.

Regards,

Norbert

Re: Me410's II./KG51?

Do any of these images represent Wolfgang Wenning's aircraft?

Yes, "ZP" was Wenning's Me 410.
