Nose colours on 100 Guards IAP

In the many pictures I have seen of the P39N used by the soviet aces Babak and then Dol'nikov the colour of the nose changes from blue to red. Do I understand this to mean that different colours were given to each of the squadrons? If so can anyone tell me which unit was red, which blue and what other colour was used? White?

thanks

Keith
