Kü.JGr. 136

Hi,

According to the Lw Officer details kindly provided by Larry, Hans-Hermann Schroth served as a StaKa in KüJGr 136. Does anyone have any details on this unit as it is not listed on Michael Holme's site.

Adam -

Küstenfliegerstaffel (Jagd) 1 was formed at the end of 1934 or beginning of 1935 with Ar64s, Ar 65s and HD 38s by renaming Seejagdstaffel 1. On 1 April 1935 it was redesignated Küstenjagdgruppe 136. This had Stab, 1.-3. Staffel, all equipped with the He 51W. On 30 October 1936, Kü.Jagdgr. 136 was renamed Seejagdgruppe 136. In 1938, Seejagdgruppe 136 converted to the Bf 109, and on 1 November 1938 its 1., 2. and 3. Staffel became 4., 5. and 6./JG 333 and its 4. Staffel became 6.(J)/Trägergruppe 186.

Völker, Karl-Heinz. Die deutsche Luftwaffe 1933-1939: Aufbau, Führung und Rüstung der Luftwaffe sowie Entwicklung der deutschen Luftkriegstheorie (Stuttgart, 1967).

They all have various amounts of information on it, with Ries having the most.

Incidentally, Küstenjagdgruppe 136 was stationed at Kiel-Holtenau.
