7./KG76 June 1940

Hi guys

I'm seeking the crews, especially pilots' indentities, of the two 7 Staffel Do17s shot down on 6 June 1940 by 501 Squadron. Also, any known markings of aircraft.

I believe a Ltn Taucar was aboard one of these, although his name does not appear in the excellent Luftwaffe Officers List.

Cheers
Brian

Re: 7./KG76 June 1940

Hello,

According to the EoE Luft Loss DB:

"June 6, 1940:

7./KG76 Dornier Do17Z. Shot down by P/O Lee of No. 501 Squadron south of Abbeville during attack on roads between Blangy and Aumale 6.20 a.m. BM Uffz Helmut Mitschke killed. BO Uffz Ludwig Menges captured wounded, FF Lt Felix Taucar and BF Uffz Helmut Wagner both captured unhurt – all later released. Aircraft 100% write-off.

7./KG76 Dornier Do17Z. Crash-landed at Bonn-Hangelar damaged by Sgt Proctor of No.501 Squadron south of Abbeville during attack on roads between Blangy and Aumale 6.20 a.m. BF Uffz Johann Dandorfer badly wounded, FF Fw Otto Ulbrich and BO Uffz Richard Carl both slightly wounded – all admitted to hospital in Gronau, Bordmechanic believed unhurt. Aircraft 70% damaged – write-off."

Is anyone aware of any photos of either of these a/c, especially the one that came down south of Abbeville?

Regards,
