Hi - sorry for the late reply but I would be interested to know if anyone can confirm the identity of the Mosquito flown by F/O N S Head with F/O A C Andrews acting as observer which was involved in this action.
I know it was a Mosquito XIII of 96 Squadron flying from West Malling. Thanks |

I would be most grateful if anyone could help to identify which part of the above aircraft the attached data plate relates to or indeed any other information that the plate may disclose.

"Starboard horizontal tailplane"
Höhenflosse Rechts, Zeichn.Nr. 88.343, applicable to A-1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, C-1, 2, 4, 5, 7, D-1, 2 (Ref: Parts manual, April 1941) Production date of the part is August 1940, so if coming from A-4 140099 4D+FP (or 4D+IP) shot down at Blackbrook, Hollywood Common, nr Docking, Britain 14.03.1944.... Then this be re-used, re-cycled or spare part. Production version in August 1940 was the A-5, but many A-1 and A-5 parts were compatible for use on A-4 or other sub-versions. My two pennies, Ed |
