This technical plate, where was it found? One of the pilotes in that airplane was very probably my grandfather! We never found out where he crashed, he's been missing ever since. I have the document of 8/1/1942 where he's officially said to be dead but they never found him...

What was the reason for this crash?
Is there any information if human remains of this crew has been found?

Re: Ju-88 - photo technical plate with Werk Nr - id

there is also here with position 15) and date 8 января 1942 года (8.01.1942):

http://www.airwar.ru/history/av2ww/a...-10-01-42.html

place of crash I think:

Место : Тим = City : Tim - in Russia

Possible places in Russia:

1) Тим — посёлок городского типа в/a small town in Курской области (Kursk Oblast). ----> Map: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...svg?uselang=ru
2) Тим — село/village Должанского района Орловской области. (Oryol Oblast) ----> Map: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...svg?uselang=ru
3) This is river located in both above areas: Kursk & Oryol - Тим — река/river в/in Курской и/and Орловской областях/regions.
