Re: F/O Ewert info needed

Recently picked up some new paperwork to a WW2 RAF pilot. He seemed to be a SNCO when he joined and later went officer.

All I have is his name, can anyone tell me about this pilot? Sorry it is little information.
  • F/O Ewert - DFC winner
Believe he also won the Air Crew Europe star.

Thanks,

Danny

Danny,

I presume you are talking about the fellow in this ebay posting?:

If that's the case, then you've bought a bit of a mess.

The service number on the ebay listing (127045) comes back to an Ernest John Townsend Boucher 903317, commissioned 29 June 1942:

No sign of any DFC.

Regards,

Dave

Re: F/O Ewert info needed

Hello,

The ribbon depicted is for an Air Force Cross, not a DFC.

F/Lt Boucher AFC, was at Poona, India, at the time of the award.

Col.
