Re: Karl-Heinz Becker claims vs mosquito losses
My notes show that 418 Squadron lost Mosquito PZ394 on 1 April 1945, missing from patrol near Osnabruck. F/L G.K. Graham killed, can't find any information on second crew member. I can't see any losses reported on 30 March 1945, but this was probably a night flight on 30 March / 1 April.

The following sources indicates that F/L Graham's navigator was F/O Styles, who was also KIA:

Re: Karl-Heinz Becker claims vs mosquito losses
Hi G,
firstly, from Becker's combat reports, the details of his Mossie claims are: 21/03/1945 Mosquito Teltow area, S. city edge Berlin (GG5-6): 8.500 m. 21.34 23/03/1945 Mosquito Zehlendorf district Berlin (GG 2): 8.000 m. 23.50 23/03/1945 Mosquito Central Berlin (FG 8): 8.000 m. 23.53 24/03/1945 Mosquito 3 km. S. Fehrbellin (EF 8): 9.500 m. 21.34 27/03/1945 Mosquito 5 km. W. Nauen (FF 5): 8.500 m. 21.38 30/03/1945 Mosquito Berlin-Tegel (FG 5/5): 8.500 m. 21.52 The claim locations are originally listed under the LW grid reference (I've added the text locations for clarity). Please see the attached map that illustrates the location of these claims in relation to Berlin. Secondly, Becker and 10./NJG11 were tasked with combating the 8 Group Bomber Command Mosquito bombing raids on Berlin. If you look at the heights (in metres) recorded for his claims then clearly any Mossies tasked on intruder duties can be discounted. Cheers Rod Last edited by RodM; 25th February 2014 at 21:53. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Becker claims vs mosquito losses
GMichalski,
If you are going to copy entries directly out of my listing to post on the forum, please don't pass it off as "your own details" etc. I'd appreciate it if you would credit me somehow. |

Re: Karl-Heinz Becker claims vs mosquito losses
Obviously 235 Sqn (a coastal command squadron) can be discounted? I think that any victories are going to be against bomber units rather than intruders and so 139 Squadron are the likely opponents in many instances.
