Bf 109F W.Nr 9209 - 6./JG52!!!

Hello

I've have got a NII VVS report on Bf 109F-2 trials in 1942

In this report I see the following numbers

Engine

Nr DB-601N1 31399

Fuselage

Baumuster BF 109F-2
Baujahr 1941
Werk No 9209

Propeller

Sach Nr 9-11207 - 3078
W.Nr 26336
Hersteller DM/773

Also there are photos that show the plane and it has 6./JG52 batch and number 4+- as a kennung.
While the common oppinion is that the plane is from 8./JG51

Now I see it is not true

In Barbas book of II/JG52 there I hve found a confirmation about W.Nr. 9209 being 100% lost near Solnechnogorsk on 26.11.1941 due to the bad weather.

Also I have the photos of a plane in mild condition on the snow.

Here's the loss, which it sounds like you have?

Bf 109F-2, 9209, n.n., , II., 6., JG 52, , , PK+ZM, , 26-Nov-41, Bruchlandung in bad weather., WNr. 9206 per Prien, earlier lost by MÜTHERICH from JG 54., VIII.Fl.Korps/Eins.Osten, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #4)-Vol.7; Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, VI.2, p.51; Fast, JG 52, IV, p.54, , Solnetschogorsk, 100%, F, , ,

Re: Bf 109F W.Nr 9209 - 6./JG52!!!

I have those contradicting entries:
WNr 9209, PK+ZM, Bf109F-2, 8./JG 51, Oblt A.Niss(!), 22.02.42 abgeschossen bei Tuschino, POW, captured USSR
with the possibility this might be
WNr 9692, SG+MF, Bf109F-2, schw 16 + |, 8./JG 51, StaFü Oblt Anton Nies(?), 22.02.42 Notlandung 100% nach Flaktreffer bei Tiefangriff, MIA bei Lukowojkowa, captured USSR
There are two other conflicting data in my list:
WNr 9206, PK+ZJ, Bf 109F-2, schw 10 + -, 5./JG 54, StaKap Hubert Mütherich+, 09.01.41 Bauchlandung 100%, Luftkampf mit MiG-3, Baumkollision nw Krasnoje-Selo
WNr 9206, PK+ZJ, Bf 109F-2, 6./JG 52, 26.11.41 Verlust 100%, Schlechtwetter bei Solnetschnogorsk

With 9206 of 26.11.41 actually being 9209 and 9209 of 22.02.42 actually being 9692 the puzzle pieces would fit neatly together...

Regards

Roland

Re: Bf 109F W.Nr 9209 - 6./JG52!!!

Rigt. The puzzle is fit now.

As you see from the test report and attached photos from the same report 9209 belongs to 6./JG52

Now it is proved. 9209 (yellow 4) is a JG52 plane.

Also look at the wheel wells.
9209 has rounded wheel wells that match WNF maches after 6714

The picture of 8./JG51 plane captured in NII VVS has squared wheel wells
The explanation is easy.
I have another NII VVS report about JG51 plane and the number is 96xx (I can't remember now but I will send you scan on Friday - it is in my cottatge near the place where 9209 made a landing)

If you like I can scan more NII VVS info on 109s
