Gentlemen,
I have a question about this Soviet ace. There were plenty of publications that stated that he was credited with shooting down nine Ju-87s in a single mission on July 6,1943. To me I don't think it's true. Could you help me with this matter? Sincerely, Edward L. Hsiao |

I found this in the "Aces of the Great Patriotic War I.": 06.07.43 – 9 25 – Ю-87 – Зоринские Дворы No further details. So maybe it was an airfield low level strafing (this way it could be), or more missions flown on the same day. Gabor ps: I noticed that Soviet pilots frequently missed the correct AC types in the air (mixing/missing the Fw 190 and Bf 109 types in their reports - maybe due to poor visibility) and overclaim (destroyed or just damaged) was -of course- an other issue. |
