Re: Seeking ID of German AF, possibly Breslau, where this StG77 funeral was being held circa Aug-Oct, 1939
Hello.
I have the following from the Luftflotte 4 Führungsabtlg. I a op: Nacrichtlich: RLM Genst.6.Abt. Bisher gemeldete Verluste der Luftflotte 4 vom 22.9.1939. Zauber meldet: A 1., Oblt Walter Polt Nachr.Offz. Stab Stuka 77 durch Flaktreffer über Modlin tödlich verwundet. These messages ar additions or corrections to the loss records submitted from the Luftflotte 4 to the Gen.Qu. earlier on - in this case additional information. In my opinion this is a pure personnel loss - the aircraft was most likely only slightly damaged and not reported as a loss. The position this officer held in the unit would probably be the background for a well photographed funeral service. Regards, Andreas B
