Aufklaresgruppe 21
Does anyone have access to the history and movements of this unit, particularly 4(H)./21, between 1st May 1940 and the end of June 1940.
I know that Dave Wadman who frequents this site is a recognised expert when it comes to these Luftwaffe Reconnaissance units, perhaps he or someone on the forum could help me shed some light on the units movements between these dates. many thanks in advance, David

Re: Aufklaresgruppe 21
Hello -
This Staffel was just discussed in detail here about a week or 10 days ago, IIRC. You might wish to do a search for the thread. Further, while it is true that Dave Wadman authored a book on the Aufklaerungsverbaende, it contains almost no information about the wartime operations and movements of the units. Wadman, David, John Bradley and Barry Ketley. Aufklärer: Luftwaffe Reconnaissance Aircraft & Units 1935-1945. Aldershot (Hants): Hikoki Publications, 1997. ISBN: 0 9519899 8 7. Hb (oversize). Dj. 272p. Pictorial with accompanying text. Dwgs. (incl. color profiles). Map(s). Tables. Charts. Glossary. Bibliography. L. Last edited by Larry deZeng; 8th January 2014 at 02:47. Re: Aufklaresgruppe 21
Thanks for the info on the book.
The recent post you mention was listed by me. I've re-posted hoping to get some further information or leads. All the best.

Re: Aufklaresgruppe 21
The only other sources for information that might provide some additional details would be additional Flugbuecher for that period and the KTB und Anlagen for the Armeekorps that it supported. Every time a mission was flown, the findings or photo interpretation results were sent to the Abt. Ia (operations officer and staff) at Korps HQ. This information, if of use, was often entered into the KTB (war journal) and sometimes a copy filed in the Anlagen (appendices to the war journal). There might even be some orders and correspondence between the Korps and the Staffel.
